By rail

Our wonderful East Coast rail service stops at Alnmouth and you can then get a taxi to Paradise Lodge.  It really is the most glorious train journey, with spectacular coastline scenery.  If you don’t want or need to bring a car, this is a fantastic way to travel.  The local taxi service is Alnmouth Private Hire on 01665 830096 and it will cost you about £4 each way (worth booking before you arrive)

By air

Newcastle airport is approximately 40 miles away and hiring a car from there is probably the easiest option.  Otherwise, take the shuttle bus to Newcastle station and then take the train to Alnmouth and taxi from the local station.

By ferry

The North Shields International Ferry Terminal at Royal Quays is approximately seven miles east of Newcastle via the A1058 and A19 and is well signposted.  You can then drive directly to Alnmouth using the signposted Coastal Route from the A19.

There are bus services from the terminal building to Newcastle City Centre which operate directly after the arrival of each ferry, allowing foot passengers to then take the train to Alnmouth.
